Immediate Opening: Maintenance Technician, Equipment and Facilities (Entry Level)

Cambridge Security Seals seeks an entry level Maintenance Technician, Equipment and Facilities with mechanical and electrical skills. The Maintenance Technician works as part of a team ensuring the smooth and consistent operation of fully automated injection molding production and finishing systems and processes. The objectives of this position center around eliminating down time, increasing productivity, and reducing maintenance costs by adhering to a schedule of preventive maintenance. This is an immediate opening at our state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Pomona, NY.
The primary focus and key responsibilities of this position are related to the maintenance of production and ancillary equipment and the building and systems infrastructure that supports the manufacturing environment. This includes basic repairs, scheduled preventative maintenance, documentation, and troubleshooting of complex, high speed assembly equipment utilized in the high-volume production of security seals. The successful candidate will possess a basic knowledge of construction skills (plumbing, carpentry, and electrical), proficiency in the use of basic hand tools, and the desire to work hard, learn, and grow. We are seeking someone with great time management skills, who excels at following directions, and who possesses the ability to prioritize work orders, solve problems, and succeed with minimal supervision.

Our ideal candidate has basic knowledge of machine maintenance and can properly identify and properly use most hand tools. General-Tasks/ Responsibilities

Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Assisting with maintenance repairs and general preventive maintenance
  • Helping to maintain an organized hardware and spare parts inventory
  • Cleaning and replacing filters
  • Replenishing lubricants in molding machines
  • Troubleshooting, cleaning, and repairing mechanical numbering heads
  • Maintaining and repairing ancillary equipment, including bag sealers, tape machines, etc.
  • Conducting minor building and infrastructure repairs (such as replacing light bulbs, fixing squeaky doors or loose hardware, office furniture assembly or disassembly, etc.)
  • Support service providers on their regular visits
  • Refill supplies as needed (cleaning stations, first aid kits, janitorial supplies, etc.)

Required Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A high school diploma, with an interest in Machine Maintenance
  • Good written/verbal communication skills
  • A get-it-done attitude and impressive work ethic
  • Strong attention to detail
  • A mechanical background is preferred but not necessarily required
  • Must be able to work standing for an entire shift, with regular lifting of up to 50 pounds
  • Willingness to learn and develop new skills in the rapidly growing automation maintenance field.
  • Must pass mandatory drug screening.

Immediate Opening: Injection Molding Machine Operator (Entry Level)

Cambridge Security Seals seeks an entry-level Machine Operator with an interest in injection molding and automated manufacturing. This is a full time, non -exempt hourly role paid weekly. This is an immediate opening at our state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Pomona, NY.

Molding Machine Operator (Entry Level) Responsibilities

Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Tending to injection molding machines and automated assembly and production lines which include ultrasonic and spin welding, laser and hot stamp marking and other automated inspection and packaging processes and the products they produce.
  • Production documentation including accurate part count and scrap reporting.
  • Assist with Set-up of machine, automation lines and materials handling.
  • Product packaging both manual and automated.
  • Quality inspections and documentation.
  • Maintaining a clean and well-organized work area.
  • Assist Shift Supervisor with any or all duties required or assigned to maintain production.
  • Assist in troubleshooting by reporting quality or mechanical issues and effectively communicate those issues.
  • Review part prints and ensure material and part conformance and product specifications and associated in process inspections are complete.
  • Gradually increased involvement developing machine processing skills, positioning for advancement.

Required Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have:

Immediate Opening: Junior Controls Engineer

Cambridge Security Seals seeks an entry level Junior Controls Engineer with mechanical and electrical engineering and programming skills and relevant experience. The primary responsibilities for this position will center around programming and system integration with fully automated injection molding production and finishing processes. This is an immediate opening at our state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Pomona, NY.
This position will be heavily involved in supporting and actively contributing to the design, development, maintenance, documentation, and integration/implementation of complex, high-speed assembly equipment utilized in the high-volume production of security seals. The successful candidate will be responsible for system specification, machine tooling, fixture design, and automation programming. Hands-on experience with controls, sensors, and ladder logic programming for integration of automated assembly equipment, electro-mechanical equipment, and electro-mechanical design of production fixtures is essential. Key Responsibilities

Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  • The design, development, and implementation of automation projects including initial concept, design requirements, system architecture, test plan, prototype fabrication/testing, and final production release.
  • Integration of new manufacturing steps and updated controls to existing lines, working with suppliers to ensure seamless and timely integration of these new technologies.
  • Working within multi-discipline project teams to develop drawing and specification documents, and develop PM protocols (including spare parts, service intervals, training/guiding maintenance personnel, etc.).
  • Ensuring that customer requirements get translated into professional and accurate Statements of Work and RFQ responses by understanding both product specifics and manufacturing and assembly techniques and variables.
  • Creating detailed documentation including, but not limited to, design input requirements, specifications, design of experiments, acceptance test, validation protocols, detailed drawings and bills of materials, Scope of Work Documents, presentations to management, Statement of Work, and Requests for Quotation.
  • Selecting and specifying equipment components, such as lasers, motors, pneumatics, conveyors, and other part-feeding, finishing, and assembly components.
  • Documenting process, procedures, protocols, and training materials for staff and stakeholders.
  • Evaluating and recommending engineering modifications to equipment or processes to improve product quality, increase line uptime, increase throughput, reduce costs, and enhance plant safety.
  • Brainstorming and working closely with a team of engineers to develop strategies and implement solutions.
  • Staying current with new and evolving relevant technologies.
  • Performing computer-aided design and drafting (CADD) work that requires a strong proficiency in CADD using Solid Works.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Bachelor's degree in field with 3+ years of related work experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience to perform at this level.
  • Hands-on experience with electro-mechanical design, development, programming, troubleshooting, and maintenance of automated manufacturing equipment.
  • Understanding of (and ideally, experience with,) plastic injection molding processes, laser marking, and other automated finishing and assembly techniques and processes.
  • Proficiency in Solid Works 3D modeling.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, MS Project, and Outlook).

Job Description: Machine Maintenance Technician

Reports to: Director of Manufacturing
Department: Manufacturing

Overview:

This role involves maintenance support for the facility and production equipment. Execute scheduled preventative maintenance and ensure all procedures are documented on time. Support the manufacturing operation and by providing technical assistance, troubleshoot, and repair industrial machinery and automation equipment with mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical or electronic components and processes.

Daily Responsibilities:

  • Equipment maintenance and repair
  • Work with team to maintain the facility to company standards.
  • Project work at the direction of Director of Manufacturing
  • Continuous communication with department leads, supervisors and managers.
  • Must have reasonable shift flexibility.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge and familiarity of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Familiarity with programming, troubleshooting and operating Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs)
  • Technical expertise in repairing and maintaining production and automation equipment.
  • Knowledge of HVAC, compressed air and control systems.
